International Workers Day
May the 1st is known as May Day or International Workers Day. This day is celebrated in many countries specially in Europe, today it is known for its political celebrations but we usually forget that in many places it is a cultural and festive celebration.
This spring holiday is celebrated in many cultures with dances, singing, cake making, one of the most popular celebrations in the UK is Maypole Dancing. In many celebration a May Queen is also chosen.
In some countries like Sweden many of the traditional celebrations have been moved to the day before called Valborgsm ssoafton or Walpurgis Night.
