World Press Freedom Day
The World Press Freedom Day was proclaimed in 1993 by the UN General Assembly, one of the main rights we enjoy during democracy is the freedom of speech and specially press freedom.
When we talk about journalism there are aspects which are essential and the need for quality journalism in an ever-developing society is a must, journalism should be accurate and independent specially independent from political ideas unfortunately we still find many newspapers in different countries who follow a particular political party and offer their readers a biased point of view.
Unfortunately in many countries there is still a gender imbalance related to journalism with a large number of male reporters and a minimum or non-existent representation of women reporters.
3rd of may is a day where everyone should ask for this independence and accuracy newspapers have the right to press freedom but readers have the right to an accurate and independent point of view.
